Healthy Snacks for Game Day

Game day is almost here! The Seattle Seahawks vs. the Denver Broncos kicks off this Sunday at 3:30. Are you ready?! I am of course most interested in what you will be bringing as an appetizer. I love a good spread of yummy food, but sometimes all the heavy dips, chicken wings and chili can be a little heavy. I wanted to share a few healthy snacks to bring along to your game day party. Ya know, to help keep you eating right with all the other temptations.

healthy snacks for game day. Cucumber tomato bites and Krave Jerky

First, let’s talk about Krave Jerky. I met Krave at the Get Fit San Diego Party at Fit Athletic last week. Ah… what a fabulous event! I will get back to that later. Any who, I met Krave, tasted a few samples and immediately thought I had to share my discovery of Krave with you.

Like they say “KRAVE takes jerky to another level!” Basically it’s healthy jerky. Yummy dried meat without all the chemicals and processed products inside. It is gluten, nitrate, MSG and corn-syrup FREE. This high protein snack is about 90 calories per serving and is pretty tasty. So far my favorite has to be the black cherry barbecue flavor. I haven’t had a chance to try them all yet but the flavors I have tasted have all been really juicy and delicious. And as game day approaches I thought the guys (and gals) would be pretty excited to try out a few different flavors of Krave. Have you tried it? Let me know what you think.

As I was thinking of healthy game day snacks I remembered the fresh herb goat cheese I recently picked up from Trader Joes. I grabbed a few other items from my kitchen and came up with these super tasty and refreshing cucumber tomato bites. The splash of lime on top really make them pop. A nice little bite of flavor. I hope you try them out. Enjoy!

Your cucumber tomato snacks look delicious and fun to eat. I’ve never heard of Krave before but now I’m going to be on a hunt to find it. I always get so annoyed with the weird ingredients in jerky so this sounds amazing.

Thank you Barbara! You can buy Krave online or use their store locator to find a location. Looks like they sell at Target, Safeway and BevMo in most areas of San Diego. http://www.kravejerky.com/location

Black Cherry BBQ Jerky sounds pretty darn good. And I’m just a 2 minute walk from Target right now 😉
