If you want to get food on the table quickly, try this easy Italian Sausage and rice dinner! It's a one pan dinner with lot of flavors and only a few simple ingredients. It’s an easy weeknight dinner the whole family will love.

Ingredients in this Dish
This simple dish comes together with a few a few pantry staples and some Italian sausage.
- Italian Ground Sausage: You can use any ground meat you have on hand, such as ground beef or turkey.
- White Rice: I used jasmine rice, but you can use your preferred white rice. Just be sure to adjust the cooking time and liquid as needed depending on the type of rice you use.
- Canned Tomatoes: but you can also use whole tomatoes. Just break them up with a spoon while cooking.
- Chicken Broth: I used chicken bouillon mixed with water to make the broth.
- Italian Seasoning: Adds extra Italian flavor to the dish.
- Minced Garlic: Fresh minced garlic adds lots of flavor.
- Salt & Pepper: Add to taste.
- Parmesan Cheese: Sprinkle on top to finish!

How to Make Italian Sausage and Rice
First, brown the sausage in a large skillet pan. Break it apart with a meat chopper or spoon. Stir to cook through. Stir in the minced garlic and Italian seasoning. Cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.

Next, Add the tomatoes and cook down. You can use the meat chopper or spoon to break up the tomatoes into smaller pieces.

Add the rice and chicken broth. Once these are added, give it a good stir. Then lower the heat to low and cover with a lid for 20-25 minutes to cook.

This Easy Italian Sausage and Rice Dinner uses simple ingredients, cooks in one pan, and has so much flavor from the browned Italian sausage, tomatoes, and chicken broth.
Ingredients
- 1 Pound of Italian Ground Sausage
- 1.5 Cups of White Rice
- 1 Cup of Canned Tomatoes
- 3 Cups of Chicken Broth
- 1 Teaspoon of Italian Seasoning
- 1 Tablespoon of Minced Garlic
- Salt & Pepper
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet on medium heat. Add the Italian ground sausage and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
- Stir in the minced garlic and Italian seasoning. Cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the tomatoes and stir. Break up the tomatoes with a spoon or meat chopper.
- Pour in the rice and chicken broth then stir to combine.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer, then cover and cook until the rice is tender and has absorbed most of the liquid, about 20-25 minutes.
- Once the rice is cooked, give everything a good stir and sprinkle with parmesan cheese.
