Summertime Limeonade Recipe

I realize its only May but it really feels like summer in San Diego! It was so warm this week that we decided it was time for some tasty lemonade… but I also had limes so we made Summertime Limeonade! I love getting my toddler involved in cooking so she helped “mix” the juice.

We started by washing the limes and lemons. The lemons are from my parents ginormous lemon tree and they just gave me a TON of lemons. Thank you parents! If anyone in San Diego wants lemons.. let me know 🙂

Then mommy cut open the limes and lemons while the kiddo mixed up some juice in her bowls. We both squeezed the fruits until all the juices came out.

Then I made a simple syrup on the stove. Just combine sugar and water until the sugar dissolves. I never realized how simple it is to make a simple syrup. We combined the juice with water, simple syrup and crushed ice. Then we ventured outside to take fun photos of the lemonade.
