Pumpkin French Toast With Whipped Crème Fraiche

Title

I always love to have a few dishes made with pumpkin during the fall. This Pumpkin French Toast With Whipped Crème Fraiche and date syrup totally hits the spot for a delicious breakfast dish. It’s not too overpowering with pumpkin flavor, it has a few unique flavors for a fun twist and it’s beautiful! I love trying new to me items, like the date syrup used in this recipe. I found it at Trader Joes, along with the pumpkin brioche and Crème Fraiche. I love how the whipped Crème Fraiche brings all the flavors together.

Pumpkin French Toast with Date Syrup

I love shopping at different grocery stores to see what’s all out there. Trader Joe’s always has fun items during different seasons and holidays. I spotted the pumpkin brioche bread right when I walked in the door and I knew I needed to make a tasty French toast.

How to Make Pumpkin French Toast With Whipped Crème Fraiche

French toast is way easier to make than I once believed. You basically need to dip a bread into an egg and milk mixture and cook on each side. First, grab all of your ingredients. You will need a thick pumpkin brioche, eggs, whole milk, cinnamon and butter. For toppings, you’ll need bananas, powdered sugar and date syrup. You can use any syrup you’d like but I especially love how the flavors combine with the pumpkin, banana and date syrup.

Pumpkin Brioche From Trader Joes

If you get the pumpkin brioche at Trader Joe’s, make sure to take the paper wrapping off of the sides of the bread.

Soak in milk and egg

Next, make your milk, egg and cinnamon mixture. You’ll then dip both sides of the bread into the mixture. Make sure it is evenly coated and set aside till all are soaked.

Cook on each side

Then, you’ll heat the French toast on medium for 4 minutes per side. While the French toast is cooking, you can make the whipped Crème Fraiche. Combine 1/4 cup of powdered sugar with the Crème Fraiche and blend until whipped.

Playing with Lucy

James was playing with Lucy while I was cooking this time and had to snap a shot. They are both too cute.

Next, add your toppings. For this pumpkin French toast, I topped it with a sprinkle of powdered sugar, the whipped Crème Fraiche and a drizzle of date syrup.
