These Caramel Apple Cookies are the perfect fall treat. It's the end of September and I'm not quite ready for pumpkin, but these apple cookies topped with cream cheese frosting, stewed apples and a drizzle of caramel are just right.

Ingredients for Caramel Apple Cookies
- Cookie Dough - I used store bought Caramel Apple Cookies from Target; however, sugar cookies would work really well too.
- Cream Cheese - 8 oz package of cream cheese, softened
- Sugar - You will need granulated sugar for the stewed apples and powdered sugar for the cream cheese frosting
- Cinnamon - Use cinnamon spice for added flavor
- Apples - I used red apples, you can use any variety of apple you prefer
- Caramel - I used a store bought caramel but you can make your own

How to Make Easy Caramel Apple Cookies
These cookies are easy to make but they do take a little prep work. They remind me of the Crumbl Caramel Apple Cookies since they have the cream cheese frosting and chunks of fresh apple on top.

Prepare the Toppings
Once you place your cookies into the oven to cook, you can prepare the toppings. I went ahead and peeled the apples first. Next, chop the apples into cubes and place them in a skillet with water, cinnamon and sugar.
Let the apples cook down for about 10 minutes. While the apples cook, stir the softened cream cheese and the powdered sugar together.

Add Toppings to the Cookies
Once the cookies are cooked, you want to let them cool completely. You can place them in the freezer on a tray to cool quicker.
Add about a tablespoon of the cream cheese frosting onto each cookie and spread out evenly. Drizzle caramel onto each cookie, then add a spoonful of apples to the center.
