I like to add in a handful of greens into most smoothies I make to make sure I’m getting in lots of nutrients in my diet. This one has spinach in it. Spinach has been my go-to for adding greens into smoothies but I also have a few fun kale smoothie recipes coming soon! I love this smoothie recipe because it uses everyday ingredients that you may already have after a farmers market or grocery run. This blackberry smoothie includes spinach, banana, blackberries, blueberries and strawberry yogurt. You can substitute with other flavors of yogurt too.
The kids love to make their own smoothies and will typically just use a handful of frozen berries, a banana and water. When I make their smoothies, they get that added handful of spinach (and they don’t even taste a difference).
I love to use fresh or frozen ingredients for smoothies. If I use any frozen ingredients, I omit the ice. If I have all fresh ingredients I will add in a few ice cubes to keep it cold.
