We had the best time enjoying Afternoon Tea at The Westgate Hotel in San Diego! I went with my daughter, Kyla, who is now 14 years old! It was such a treat to enjoy quality time, just us girls in this beautiful spot, with delicious bites.

Afternoon Tea at The Westgate Hotel
The Westgate Hotel's Afternoon Tea is hosted in their Grand Lobby, filled with Versailles-inspired French interiors and antique crystal chandeliers.
Their tea sandwiches, pastries, French macarons, and cakes are from the kitchen of Bonne Vie Brasserie & Bar. Elegant music is played live from a harpist.

Specialty Tea Events
The Westgate offers specialty tea events throughout the year with different themes. We loved joining them for the Jane Avril tea, inspired by my favorite French artist, Henri de Toulouse Lautrec’s legendary muse Jane Avril and the vibrant spirit of late 19th-century Parisian salons.

Toast with Tea
During specialty teas and Thursday's, raise a glass with a complimentary glass of champagne as part of your Afternoon Tea experience.

The Tea Selection
When we first arrived, we were given a choice of which tea we would each like to enjoy. I went with the orchid vanilla which has notes of coconut and vanilla. Kyla got the Raspberry Nectar which has hibiscus and citrus. I received a glass of champagne and Kyla had the sparkling cider.

First Course
Next, they bring out the first course which is a two tier tray of mini sandwiches and small bite appetizers. We loved the shrimp bites in a mini waffle bowl and the brie bites. Our favorite of the sandwiches was the smoked salmon with cucumber and caviar.

Second Course
The second course was my favorite because the scone style biscuit was so delicious. It is served with a creamed butter and pomegranate jam. The second course is also served with mixed berries and whipped cream.

The Third Course: Dessert
The third course filled with desserts was also so good! We enjoyed the mini cheesecakes, tiramisu, lemon lavender cakes and the pistachio macarons.

Celebrating with Afternoon Tea
If you've been thinking of trying an afternoon tea experience, this one was so fun! We loved the elegant atmosphere, the delicious tea options, all of the courses and the beautiful music played by the harpist.
The Westgate is a beautiful spot for afternoon tea with the ladies, a date night or a fun start to a stay in downtown San Diego! Enjoy! xo, Bri
