Setting Goals and Intentions with Dream Boards

I am a huge fan of setting goals and intentions with dream boards! I create a new dream board every year around the beginning of the year and often throughout the year as things change. I've been doing this since as long as I can remember in some form or another. I used to write notes and draw pictures in journals, well I still do that as well. The act of creating a dream board is now just as enjoyable as setting the dreams. It's almost like creating a painting as I treat it as a work of art. Read on to see how I set my goals and intentions with dream boards!

    Dream Board 2022

    Motivation for Your Dream Board

I like to make a list of goals or intentions for the year before starting the dream board. This helps guide the direction for your final piece. If this is hard, clear your mind and then start writing down any words that pop into your mind that feel good. If you're in a place where you are having a hard time making dreams, I totally understand. These last couple years have been difficult to navigate. I found myself in a few tough spots that made it really difficult to push forward but I've found the following to be incredibly helpful:

    Listen to Motivating Audio Books

    • How to Make Sh*t Happen, Sean Whalen
    • You are a Badass, Jen Sincero
    • As a Man Thinketh, James Allen
    • The Compound Effect, Darren Hardy

    Move Your Body

    • Daily Yoga Practice, Yoga With Adriene
    • Walk and Talks with Friends
    • Nature Walks - Walking along the beach, lakes or hikes
    • Gym - A good cardio and weight workout

    Creating A Dream Board

Once you've got the motivation and determination to make your dreams a reality, it's time to get to work. Write out all of your goals. It doesn't matter how big or small they are. Any dream you've ever had needs to be written down. Then write down which of those dreams you want to work on this year. Next, grab a stack of magazines and pull out any page that brings you complete joy and reminds you of any of your dreams. I also make sure to pull bright pieces of color or photos because I will look at this every day and I want it to be beautiful. I use a glue stick or mod podge, depending on the board to paste everything down.

A few items I'm focusing on this year:

    • An Income that Supports My Families Dreams
    • Becoming a Top Selling Cookbook Author
    • Building Community
    • Healthy Mind & Body
    • Creative, Expressive & Enjoyable Projects
    • Travel to New Places & Favorite Spots
    • Home Projects

My intention is for you to follow your dreams and build a life that allows you to always pursue your passions. This is the heart of why I created this blog and why I share about my dreams with you. I wish you all a very amazing year!
