Picnics and Flowers is now open at the Carlsbad Flower Fields! Pop Up Picnic Co. hosts the most beautiful picnic spaces and during the spring, they are available at the perfect setting overlooking the flowers and the ocean! I love visiting The Flower Fields in the spring to see all of the amazing florals in bloom. Tickets are available for Picnics + Flowers on Saturdays and Sundays from 11-2 through May 12, 2024!
Why Attend Picnics + Flowers?
The Picnics + Flowers experience is a luxury event hosted by Pop Up Picnic Co. The ticket includes the entry fee to the flower fields, premier parking, live music, the picnic lunch, games, wagon rides and a beautiful space to relax. We loved the set up of the individual picnic areas all along the top of the flower fields. The views were perfectly set above the flowers and the ocean.
The Picnic Food
One of my favorite dishes from the picnic was part of the mini charcuterie. The goat cheese infused with olive oil and topped with a beautiful yellow flower was a sweet touch. The appetizer round also included crackers, olives and pickles. We were greeted with Hibiscus Lemon Agua Fresca + Mint Water for the table. We received a picnic basket filled with our first course, dishes and a postcard.
The second course included two salads. We had a spring salad with a raspberry vinaigrette and shaved carrots with pepitas.
Our third course included a trio of tea sandwiches. I loved the cucumber sandwich since it reminded me of eating tea sandwiches as a kid. The ham and roasted pepper sandwich was super tasty as well! Their menu may rotate throughout the event.
Our last course included a super flavorful lemon bar and a chocolate chip brownie. It was a tasty and refreshing meal to enjoy while chatting and enjoying the views!
We had a really fun time enjoying this beautiful setting and catching up. This would be an awesome experience for a birthday, anniversary, celebration or weekend adventure with friends!
The Vibe
The atmosphere is described perfectly by Pop Up Picnic - relaxed, sophisticated and blooming with floral inspiration! There's a live musician singing and playing guitar to songs like Jack Johnson. The servers are very friendly and only come by to drop off each course, keeping each space feeling like a private picnic.
The Flower Fields in Carlsbad
Before or after your picnic, you're welcome to enjoy the flower fields at your leisure. We went after our picnic to walk up and down the many beautiful rows of flowers. The Flower Fields also have areas for the kids to play, additional food options, birds to view, gold panning and a few craft booth's to shop at. There are photo ops all over the fields.

No pets are not allowed at Picnics and Flowers.
The ticket includes a farm-to-table inspired lunch and a beautiful picnic overlooking the flower fields and ocean. Each picnic is a 60 minute reservation and includes a prix-fixe meal + drinks, live music and family-friendly games. Tickets also include private entrance parking, all-day access to the Flower Fields and wagon rides.
