    Hacienda Hotel in Old Town

Mark and I celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary in Old Town San Diego. We had such a relaxing weekend. We had tasty margaritas at Cafe Coyote and an awesome meal at Barleymash but I hadn't yet shared what a nice time we had at the The Hacienda Hotel. The hotel made for the perfect San Diego staycation spot, or the center hub of our adventures. We mainly stayed around Old Town but we also took the trolley downtown a couple times. Check out the Hacienda Hotel in Old town for a beautiful spot to stay.

    Getting Around

I love the restaurants and nightlife of downtown but having a quiet spot to come back to in the evening is definitely what this overworked couple needed. It was super easy and inexpensive to hop on the trolley to enjoy downtown and Little Italy. We purchased a 2 day ticket for $12 each. We also enjoyed touring around Old Town and being able to walk to every spot we wanted to check out.

    Eats and Drinks

The hotel has a restaurant on the top level overlooking all of old town: The Old Town Tequila Factory. They have an awesome brunch that you can get included in your hotel stay if you book a package. We love to eat at Cafe Coyote for delicious Mexican food. Don Pietro and Freds are super fun spots to grab a drink or food. Do not miss El Sueno, one of my favorite spots to eat in San Diego. If you're in the mood for Italian, Monello is a short cab ride away.

    The Hotel Vibe

Our room was incredibly spacious and really comfortable. I love the old town charm and feel of the whole hotel. The hacienda style is very rustic but charming. The location is ideal in the heart of Old Town. We were hoping to use the pool that weekend but it was a little chilly out and we were too busy eating. Next time we go we will have to take advantage of this beautiful setting. I love the flowers and palm trees around the property.

    Exploring Old Town

Staying in Old Town is really something every San Diegan should try. It is a reminder of the old days and just such a nice place to stroll around in. There are lots of restaurants to try. There are tours, the Whaley House and
