    Brunch at Charles and Dinorah

Brunching with the ladies can be few and far between these days so when we have the opportunity, we go all out. I was invited to try Charles and Dinorah located at The Pearl Hotel near Shelter Island in San Diego. What a charming little hotel with mid-century decor. Charles and Dinorah is a great spot for a brunch made from classic ingredients with a modern spin.

    Brunch with Speciality Cocktails

Brunch clearly always starts with cocktails, am I right?! Their bottle of bubbles includes blueberry, lavender and guava flavors. This happens to be the blueberry with a sprig of lavender, because why not. The blueberry was the BEST! I thought I would go for the lavender but it really didn't have much flavor to it.

They also had a whole list of brunch cocktails that looked delish! Like the Slice of Heaven: sauvignon blanc, Giffard pamplemouse liqueur, pineapple cordial, rosemary and the Dreamsicle: coconut fat washed pineapple infused plantation rum, lime, blood orange, orgeat and coconut milk. Wow!

Great Bites at The Pearl Hotel

They offer a variety of toasts. We tried the tasty albacore tuna with aioli and celery. There was another one topped with fruit and nuts that looked so pretty too.

Breakfast and Brunch in San Diego

The Chicken Fried Steak made with sausage gravy and hash browns was crispy and full of flavor. The Chilaquiles was a little bland but a well crafted dish paired with farro and black beans.

I had a great time chatting it up with new and old friends. It was a fun and relaxing spot to have brunch with those pool views.

I will be sure to head back to try those cocktails and the Nutella French Toast!

I was hosted for brunch. All opinions are my own.
