We celebrated our 17-year wedding anniversary with a coastal stay at The Dana on Mission Bay in San Diego. It’s one of those easy, laid-back spots where you can truly unwind, close to all the local favorites, yet tucked along the bay with beautiful waterfront views.
The Rooms at The Dana
The rooms at The Dana are comfortable, coastal, and designed for a relaxed stay. We loved having a private patio with views of the marina, it made mornings feel extra peaceful with coffee by the water.

We enjoyed walking along the marina and easing into that slower pace that only a bay front stay can bring. Our room was upgraded to a king suite after mentioning our anniversary which was so nice of them. We also received a dessert voucher and all guests receive a drink coupon on arrival.
What to do
The location makes it easy to explore, whether you want to head over to the bay, check out Mission Beach, or hop into downtown San Diego. Checking out Belmont Park is always a must!
Dining at The Firefly
We had dinner at Firefly, the on-site restaurant, and it ended up being such a highlight of our stay. We ordered the watermelon margarita, fish tacos, and calamari. Everything we had was excellent.
The margarita was refreshing and the food was fresh, flavorful and easy to share. It's one of those spots that feels both casual and special at the same time.
Exploring Nearby
One of the best parts of staying at The Dana is how easy it is to explore everything nearby. You’re just minutes from Mission Beach and Pacific Beach. For something a little more active, we love going paddle boarding on Mission Bay.
