    Lemonade at UTC

We were invited to the grand opening of the UTC Lemonade and had a great time checking out the new to San Diego restaurant. Lemonade has been a popular LA spot for years and has just opened two locations in San Diego. Their other location opened up last month in Hillcrest. Lemonade is a fresh spot serving up comfort food in a cafeteria like setting.

The first time attending any Lemonade is a little overwhelming for a foodie like me. There are so many tasty looking options it is hard to decide which items to order, but it is awesome to be able to see all the food. I didn't realize at first but they will give you a sample of the dish if you want to try it before adding it to your plate. Lemonade is known for serving up fresh options for time-crunched foodies. They seek out fresh and seasonal ingredients to provide food in a fast-casual setting. Simply grab a tray and select from the variety of healthy comfort items.

The restaurant is very bright with their use of vibrant yellows and greens.

In addition to their many salad options, they have "hot market veggies" and land and sea options. These are all dishes that you can select in the 1-6 portion sizes. They also offer sandwiches and flatbreads. I had the caramelized onion, olive, garlic and goat cheese flatbread. It was delicious.

Unfortunately, I completely missed taking a photo of their awesome dessert case. They have an assortment of sliced cake, cupcakes, cookies, macarons, bars, custards and pies. I did grab a chocolate chip cookie for the road and it did not disappoint. I also tried the red velvet cupcake and it was on point.

My favorite dishes that I tried were:

Arugula, Fig, Blue Cheese, Marketplace Salad
Soba Noodles: Kimchi marinated veggies, toasted peanuts, sesame
    Avocado Salmon Louie
    White Truffle Mac 'N Cheese
    Red Miso Beef Short Rib
Caramelized Onion, Olive, Garlic and Goat Cheese Flatbread

Oh! And let's not forget the Lemonade! My favorites were the Cucumber Mint, Strawberry Rhubarb and the Watermelon Rosemary. All lemonades are $3.

Desserts range from $1.25-5 and are super reasonable for the flavor. Their portions are just right and the price is very decent. I seriously cannot wait to go back to Lemonade at UTC. This was a great spot to take the kids too. Enjoy!

I received a meal for media consideration. All opinions are my own.
