    Work Hard, Play Hard { Printable }

    Work Hard | Play Hard: All Day, Everyday

    I have been thinking about this quote a lot lately "Work Hard, Play Hard" and it rings true for me everyday. Ever since I had my kiddo I have been striving to follow my dreams and do things I love. I was doing this before too but it became more intense.

    I read a story right after having her about a woman who looked at her life and did not feel accomplished. She was working a job that she didn't like and didn't know why. She looked at her daughter and thought that she wanted to be a person her daughter could look up to and know that following your dreams is possible.

    I wish I kept that story so I could reference it but it definitely resonated with me. I have always known that one day I would own my own business. I just never knew how to make that happen. It seems as if sometimes things in life just fall into place and you just have to go for it. Getting laid off when my daughter was one month old was super scary and I didn't know what I was going to do. Since I had just had a baby, I had to focus on her and worry about work later.

    Once I started understanding how to be a mom and I realized there can be more time in the day for myself, I brainstormed. I started an Etsy shop. I tried searching for jobs in areas I would love. I blogged. I soul searched.

    I came to find out that I really kind of like it all. But what I do best is graphic design and marketing. So, BriGeeski was launched. Since I also love to cook, bake, craft, design, eat and share my experiences I will write about it right here and sometimes other places.

    Even though certain things had to happen for me to realize this was the path to take, I also had to work really hard to get here. Making your dream business work takes time, dedication and heart. You have to really be in it. You have to go after it with everything you have. You have to network, eat, sleep and breathe your work (some days). But you also have to take time for yourself. Take a break and do things you love that you don't consider work. Especially if you are a creative person. Creative people need to be creative to stay sane.

    Oftentimes when I feel overwhelmed, I bake. The act of baking and cooking is really relaxing to me.

    Any who... my point is to Work Hard and Play Hard - All Day, Everyday.
