I recently visited Grand Central Market in LA and it is a must see spot! There are over 40 tasty vendors to choose from for delicious bites.
This well-known, historic landmark opened in 1917, and brings together the vibrant cultural cuisines of Los Angeles.

Exploring The Grand Central Market
When I went to LA for the Tastemaker conference, I knew I had to visit a local foodie hot spot. I picked the Grand Central Market to try as many Los Angeles favorites in one location and get a feel for the LA vibe. Fun Fact: one of the latest episodes of The Rookie was also filmed here!

Best Spots for Breakfast
If you're stopping by the market in the morning and you want to enjoy breakfast, these are your best options:
- Eggslut: An LA favorite for egg lovers. Enjoy several styles of chef-driven egg sandwiches, hash browns, French toast sticks, juices or coffees.
- Jose Chiquito: Breakfast is served all day and options range from chilaquiles, pancakes, sandwiches and burritos.
- The Juice: Serves up raw, organic cold pressed juices, wellness shots and smoothie bowls.
- Bastion Bakery: Hand crafted baked pastries, sourdough, coffee and fresh fruit.
- The Donut Man: High quality, delicious donuts! Try the strawberry or lemon and cream cheese filled or topped donuts.

Where to Get Lunch or Dinner
There are many places to grab lunch or dinner at the Grand Central Market. These are the top spots I enjoyed, saw or heard about from other foodies.
- Villa's Tacos: Villa's is a must try no matter what time of day you visit. They've made a name for themselves with multiple years on the MICHELIN Bib Gourmand list. Their signature queso taco paired with a watermelon aqua Fresca is a must.
- For the Win: For one of the best burgers in LA try their grass-fed burgers served on a potato roll with onions and cheese.
- Maple Block: Get your fill of smoked BBQ and Mac n Cheese.
- Lucky Bird: A must for a tasty fried chicken sandwich.
- Sarita's Pupuseria: Well known for many styles of pupusas.
- Sticky Rice: LA's Thai comfort food. Try the drunken noodles.
- The Oyster Gourmet: A must try for an array of seafood, beer, wine and champagne.

Stock Up on Snacks
The Grand Central Market also has food stands selling fresh produce, grab and go items, candy and more. Here are a few:
- Fat and Flour: Fresh baked cookies and treats
- La Huerta Candy: Fill a bag of candy to take home
- Nonna's Empanadas: Easy to grab and go for a quick bite
- Torres Produce: Pick up some everyday favorites like fruits and veggies

Where to Dine at the Market
There are many seating areas inside the market to enjoy your food. There are also a few patio spaces outside where you can enjoy the downtown skyline with your meal.

Getting To Grand Central Market and Parking
The market is open daily from 8AM to 9PM. The parking structure is attached to the market. Once you park, you can take the elevator or stairs directly to the market opening. This was helpful for me traveling solo in downtown LA. The area around the market seemed nice too but I only went to the market.
- Market Address:
317 South Broadway Los Angeles, California 90013 - Parking Address:
308 South Hill Street Los Angeles, CA 90013 - Parking Rates: First 90 minutes: $5.50, Each additional 15 minutes: $2, Daily maximum: $40 (As of Feb 2026)

What's Near the Market
If you have the time, take a ride on Angel's Flight to check out the Broad Museum. The short ride between Hill Street and Grand Avenue is an iconic LA experience and a fun way to see more of downtown. Once there, explore The Broad’s contemporary art and soak in the city’s creative energy.
If you’re spending a few days in LA, be sure to check out Universal Studios. We recently shared a full guide to making the most of your visit!
