We got a “Camper Van”!

Over the last couple weeks Mark and I have been talking about getting a motorhome. I didn’t think we would actually get one so quick but it all just worked out. Marks grandparents in the desert were talking about selling theirs at the same time we decided we would like to get an old fixer upper motorhome. It’s a 1987 Southwind and the little missy has been calling it a “Camper Van” like in Peppa Pig. The name has kind of stuck so we’ve all been calling it that.

It looks like it is going to take a bit of time to get the engine working well (Mark had to stop 3 times on his way home to work on it). He has already starting getting things ready though. Even as he waits for parts he has started pulling out the old carpet and making sure everything on the inside operates well.

I can’t wait to get working on the inside myself. We are planning on painting most of the interior white with some grey accents and updating all the fabrics.

Hopefully soon enough we will be camping at our local San Diego beaches and mountain areas! I’m so excited to take the kiddos camping. The little lady seriously can NOT wait. She asks to go in the camper van everyday.

I have been camping since I was little with my parents and grandparents. I think it is something all kids should get to enjoy. There is so much fun to be had and adventures to seek. And as an added plus, I will be sharing these adventures right here with you and on social media.

Follow along with us at #BGcamping For all our local and nearby adventures in the Camper Van!
Psst! If you want to see what we are thinking of doing to the inside of the camper van, check out our Pinterest board

Enjoy!

Will you be turning it into a “glamper”…glamorous camper?

I guess you could call it that. We repainted the interior and added new flooring. I will be sharing all the updates this week.

I can’t wait to see the adventures this takes you on! My father in law asked us if we wanted his 5th wheel a couple years ago when he moved and we took a pass…. looking back I wish we hadn’t!

We have been talking about getting a camper too. I love the vintage feel of this one. Good luck getting it up and running!
