Staying Cozy on Chilly Days With Potato Soup

Thank you Idahoan® Steakhouse® Soups for sponsoring this post. Enjoy the flavorful, slow-cooked taste of restaurant-quality soup at home, in minutes.

Gathering with friends and family over a tasty meal is probably my all time favorite thing to do. With this chilly weather, a warm bowl of soup will help keep everyone cozy. We recently invited a few friends over for an afternoon soup party, thanks to our sponsor Idahoan® Steakhouse® Soups. We enjoyed the tasty creamy potato and cheddar potato flavors with a little extra cheese and crackers on the side. This was such a simple party idea that brought everyone together on a chilly winter day!

Having friends with kids that are close to the same age makes little weekend parties so much fun! When we first had kids it just felt like too much to get together all the time. Now that ours are older, it’s almost a weekly occurrence. This makes my heart happy. Spending quality time with friends and family is what it’s all about. Any theme party idea I can think of just makes it a little more fun and exciting for everyone!

Soup parties can be thrown together last minute because there really isn’t that much prep. The Idahoan Steakhouse Soups are a great item to keep in the pantry for any last minute get togethers. These soups come together in just a few minutes and all you have to do is add water. Our favorite flavor was the cheddar potato. Next time, I’m going to try their loaded potato or cheddar broccoli.

The kids enjoyed their warm cup of soup on this chilly day together. They loved mixing in extra cheese and dipping their crackers in the potato soup. You could also add other toppings if you want.

Our patio cover makes it easy to host an outdoor party even when it’s chilly out, but we could use some heaters on those really cold days! Mark said that’s next on his backyard project list so I can’t wait! To bring this whole soup party together, I picked up a few items from the dollar bin and a few extra bowls at Target. I love using white bowls for food so that the food really pops but I’m starting to try out different colors too. What’s your favorite dish color?

We had a great time sharing soup with our friends for an afternoon lunch party. We stayed warm with our delicious bowls of potato soup, and shared a bunch of laughs with this crowd!

If you’re looking for an easy last minute party idea, you’ve got to try hosting a soup party. All you really need are bowls, soup spoons, Idahoan Steakhouse Soups and some friends. If you want to add a little more, just set out some cheese, crackers and drinks for everyone. A little centerpiece made from your favorite items can also bring the party together! This is a great party idea for Valentines Day too!
