Can you believe San Diego Restaurant Week has been around for 10 years?! How great is that! From Sunday, September 21st through Friday, September 26th, 2014 foodies can enjoy over 200 participating restaurants featuring appetizers, entrees and desserts. It’s your chance to try some of San Diego’s finest and freshest ingredients at the most well-known restaurants during this twice yearly event. Choosing won’t be easy because every participating restaurant is offering a three-course prix-fixe dinner menu for just $25, $35 or $45 per person and/or two-course prix-fixe lunch menus for only $10, $15 or $20 per person depending on the restaurant selected.
San Diego Restaurant Week Press Conference & Chef Showdown
I had the amazing opportunity to not only attend the #SDRW press event but to also be a judge during the chef showdown promoting the week long event. I was so excited to be at the table with Joe O’Donnell of Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse and Troy Johnson of San Diego Magazine. Originally Sam the Cooking Guy was supposed to be the other judge and he had to cancel. I was beyond honored to take his spot for the afternoon. What an awesome group of culinary professionals. Using Catalina Offshore products teams battled to create the best dish.
Chefs from 100 Wines Kitchen, Bleu Boheme, Fish Public, Terra American Bistro, Vessel Restaurant and The Wellington Steak & Martini Lounge were accompanied by sous chefs or Councilmembers Mark Kersey, Lorie Zapf, Scott Sherman and Chris Cate as well as Supervisors Dave Roberts and Ron Roberts. Awards categories included Most Creative, Best Presentation, Most Entertaining, Best Outfit, Most Likely to Cook at Home and Best Date Night Meal.
