I have had a busy month but it has been so fun. I have been to 3 conferences within the last 3 weeks. Luckily on this crazy adventure of learning and planning for the year ahead I have also managed to stop into a few delicious restaurants. Table 926 in northern Pacific Beach is one of my new favorites. It is a nice but casual bistro type restaurant with fresh and local ingredients.
I went to Table 926 with a few blogger friends curtousy of Socialstars – one of my new favorite influencer groups. We went to dinner after the Women Get Social Conference and chatted about the things we learned, our family at home and all the new things we planned to do.
I loved the farm-to-table feel of the restaurant environment. The decor is modern and elegant with a comforting feel. The walls are lined with wine bottles and the menu specials are written on chalkboards. The food was amazing. The waiter was full of suggestions and happy to accommodate any dietary needs. We had a few vegetarians in the group so the waiter offered suggestions on which dishes would be best vegetarian.
We started off with the artisan cheese board filled with tasty cheese, dried fruit, fig jam and honeycomb. The cheese board was served with small soft pieces of bread. We sampled the char roasted brussels sprouts which are cooked in a dijon-white anchovy vinaigrette. (surprisingly delicious) One of our friends ordered the steamed venus clams cooked with fennel confit and spanish chorizo. So good!
For dinner I ordered the natural chicken breast with wild mushrooms, savoy spinach, creamy grits and thyme scented pan gravy. Oh my gosh.. I can still taste it. I hardly eat mushrooms since Mark is not a fan so I pretty much always order the dish with mushrooms when I go out. I feel in love with grits when I visited Atlanta and had a creamy shrimp and grits appetizer. So this chicken dish combined with mushrooms and grits was just what I needed after a long day away from my family. The conference was amazing but I wasn’t used to being away from my hubby and kiddo for so long. This was definitely the comfort meal I needed and I will SO be back to try out some of their other entrees.
Table 926 did not lack on dessert either. I had the Mascarpone Cheesecake with blackberry jam, caramel sauce and whipped cream. Yes, you read that right – Mascarpone Cheesecake! My photo does it no justice. That cheesecake was amazing – melt-in-your-mouth – fantabulous.
I hope you get a chance to check out Table 926. Let me know what you think!
