Last week we headed to Prospect Bar & Grill for lunch. What an awesome spot to enjoy a meal while overlooking the La Jolla coast. The restaurant is located right in the middle of prospect directly across from the ocean views. We were invited to check out a few of their new items for Fall.
The restaurant itself is pretty small but in a prime location. The patio holds about 15 tables and the inside hosts a large bar right in the middle. It seems like a fun spot for evening drinks too.
We ordered a few items to sample off the new menu. The best part was actually talking to Chef Sergio. He has a lot of plans for menu improvement. There are a few new items on the menu that are currently at his satisfaction but he said over the next few months, he plans to bring in more sustainable farm fresh ingredients to the menu.
The Ahi Poke Tostada is one of the new Fall items. I really enjoyed this one because it has crushed pumpkin seeds on top. I love this idea of bringing in the fall flavors into a classic dish.
My absolute favorite dish of the day was the Smoked Gouda Mac. The mac is cooked in a béchamel with bacon AND jalapeños! Delicious.
We also tried their new Kobe Burger. I love that it is served on a Sadie Rose focaccia herb cheese bread.
We had a fun experience at Prospect Bar and Grill and will definitely be back to try out more of their new items. Chef Sergio really knows his stuff. He said he worked at restaurants in San Francisco as well as many San Diego restaurants, including Cafe Chloe. Keep an eye out on Prospect Bar and Grill!
I received a meal for media consideration. All opinions are my own.
