BriGeeski I was so excited after Blurb reached out to me about creating a book through their website. I have been a fan of Blurb for years. Ever since I saw the creator speak at an AIGA Y Conference in San Diego. If you haven’t heard about Blurb, they are an online book making site that allows you to create photo books to cook books and everything in between. They had seen my 31 Goals for my 31st year post and offered to help me cross off one of my goals for the year. How sweet is that?! Not only did I get an opportunity to create a book on their site, they offered to sponsor my post. I am so happy with how my book turned out. I have really wanted to create a baby book for the little mister and now I have.
There are a few ways to make photo books through Blurb and if I had more time I would have added more personal elements but I really wanted to get my book done by Christmas. I used the make a book online option. You can also create your own templates through InDesign or upload a PDF. Their online system is very easy to use. Simply upload your photos and place the photos how you want or they will even auto populate the images into a book.
My book arrived in the mail a week or so later and it was in my hands just in time for the holidays. These books are perfect for gifts. I’m thinking a sweet gift for a Valentine would be extra special. I was looking around at their self-publishing options also. I have often dreamed about having my own cook book and I think I may start here.
I ordered the large square 12 x 12 book. I love the size. It is perfect for setting on the coffee table so friends and family can take a peak as they come by. The images are crisp and clear. I chose layouts that had full page images and pages with 6 images to a page for a little variation.
I am thrilled with how the book turned out and cannot wait to start making more. I feel like we take so many photos but often forget to take the time to do something with the photos. Here’s to making more photo books in 2016!
