Palm Springs in September

Every year we head to Palm Springs for a friends & family golf tournament. We have been doing this for quite a few years now and we always have a good time. It is a short trip for us – just Friday though Sunday but it is just enough time to do the things we like to do.

Friday night we go to Maracas Mexican Restaurant. My mom and I found a new favorite meal: The Flauton: a feast consist of shredded chicken, onions and cilantro rolled in a flour tortilla then deep fried and served with a side of rice, beans, sour cream and pico de gallo. We usually stay at Palm Mountain Resort & Spa and love it for it’s location, rooms and price. It’s right in the middle of all the shops and restaurants that are all walking distance away.

Saturday (and Sunday) morning we ate breakfast at Pinocchio in the Desert. They have bottomless champagne for $3.95 and awesome breakfast food. Then some of the girls did a little bar hopping. We stopped at Hair of the Dog for their famous bloody Mary. Then we went to Desert Fox Bar for another. Desert Fox Bar was a new stop for us and a new favorite.

After the bar stops we did a little shopping and heading back to the hotel for some pool time. We spent the rest of the day in the pool helping the kiddo learn to swim.

Saturday night is always the banquet dinner and awards ceremony after the golf tournament. We eat a yummy catered meal, buy drinks from the bar and then we do a raffle. We had some awesome prizes this year, including golf hats, clubs, wine, gift baskets, and a month pass to Stronghold Gym. I couldn’t believe our kiddo passed out in her stroller before the raffle even began. She stayed sleeping the whole way though. What a trooper!

Next time you head to Palm Springs try out the Palm Mountain Resort. It is such a fun place to relax and have fun. We always ask for poolside rooms which have patios heading right to the pool. In the evenings we all grab our patio chairs and sit around and chat. It is perfect for the kiddos because you can sit right outside your door and still have a good time with friends while they sleep. Have you been to Palm Springs lately? What are your favorite spots or things to do?
