Whole Foods in La Jolla now offers Love Local Brews Nights on select weekends. We attended a few weeks ago for a preview of the offerings. If you’re doing your grocery shopping on a weekend and you see the beer night going on – stop on in for a bite and a brew.
We tried the buffalo meatballs and the beer bread with cheese fondue sauce for appetizers. The meatballs were really good but that pretzel bread was even better. The sauce is made with white snaked beer and is oh so delicious!
For dinner I had the shrimp with spinach and butternut squash. I really enjoyed the grilled shrimp paired with the salty sweet of the spinach and butternut squash salad. It seems like such an easy salad to make but I have never tried it at home. I am going to have to give it a try. The flavors just went so well together.
Mark tried the steak with brussels and mash potatoes. I loved the side dishes but I wasn’t too big on the steak. I think it was the stout sauce that I wasn’t big on.
We brought our kiddo along with us and she loved the pretzel cheese bread and meatballs.
Have you been to Whole Foods for dinner or beer? What was your favorite dish?
We received a dinner at Whole Foods. All opinions are my own.
I’ve never been to whole foods for dinner before. Sounds so good! Ill have to check it out. My sister-in-law is having whole foods cater the food for her wedding reception. She is getting married this weekend in Austin. I had no idea that they catered such big events. Looking forward to the food! That pretzel bread with cheese sounds delish!
How fun! I’m sure Whole Foods would do an awesome catering job at a wedding. Have fun and congrats to your family!
Thanks! The wedding was beautiful and the food did not disappoint:) !
