Ladies Night In

I just had one of the best weekends in a long time! A much need ladies weekend packed full of fun, laughter, REAL conversations AND an informative retreat about blogging. All of this lead up to the Women Get Social conference in San Diego. Chelsea from Millennial Blogs and Amy from Sunset Vacation Rental joined forces to create the Sunset Millennial Summit.

I arrived to the beautiful and spacious home in Ocean Beach on Thursday evening. Chelsea and Amy welcomed me and about 15 other ladies into the house and offered for us to stay throughout the weekend. I had already made plans to stay at the Bahia so I only stayed on Thursday evening but it was so nice to spend time with the ladies I met. We each picked a flower of our choice to put in our hair. I snagged a dark purple flower because it reminded me of my little girl.

Some of the ladies were bloggers I had met briefly at other events and some I met for the first time. I felt like I really got to know a lot of the ladies so much better this evening and throughout the weekend. It is so nice to have another amazing group of inspiring women to call my friends.

The house was the perfect spot for a weekend summit or a ladies night in and I am already planning on vacationing there over the summer. It is super close to the beach and has plenty of sleeping room. I loved the modern and simple beachy feel of the home.

We sipped on wine and snacked on appetizers as we waited for all the ladies to arrive. The spinach and artichoke dip that Amy made was amazing. Once the wine was flowing we started dinner. All of the food was from Whole Foods in La Jolla. There was a large spread of meat, cheese, fruit, veggies, salad, chicken and bread. We all filled our plates high and then split up into two groups to discuss healthy life and work balance.

We all wrote our blogging related questions on post it notes and stuck them on the living room window. Then we gathered around and listened closely to Chelsea as she answered each question. It was so nice to get the opportunity to discuss any blogging related questions we had with each other. Chelsea connects brands with millennial influencers through Millennial Blogs. The blog network specializes in shareable content and beautiful imagery. I am a regular contributor to Chelsea’s lifestyle blog Someday I’ll Learn so it was very cool to hear her insight.

After all of our questions were answered a few ladies headed home for the evening and the rest of us got ready for bed. We snuck back into the kitchen for another glass of wine. When Chelsea asked me if there was anything that could make the evening better, I said “a little chocolate would be great”. A big smile crossed her face as she grabbed a box of mini chocolate cupcakes from Sprinkles out of the fridge. It was a fabulous evening filled with so much fun and a lasting feeling of comradery

We received a super cool swag bag filled with a jar of Jackie’s Jams out of El Cajon, Whole Foods Lip Balm and Orange Italian Soda, 365 Everyday Value Blueberry Trail Mix and Organic Chocolate all from Whole Foods La Jolla. It was the perfect bag of goodies to take home after a long weekend away. There was no food left in my house after being gone for 3 days so I totally munched down on that blueberry trail mix and chocolate.

Thank you so much to Amy and Chelsea for hosting us. I had an amazing time!
