I was super excited to learn about HUMAN (Helping Unite Mankind & Nutrition) Healthy Vending Machines. I am always interested in how people are making an effort to help out the health and wellbeing of our future. Human Healthy Vending is on a quest to provide healthier options in schools and businesses.
I have found myself (many times) searching for something healthy to eat after forgetting to pack a snack, especially when I worked in an office. There is always junk food around but I often crave something yummy AND healthy! I think these vending machines sound great and I wish they would replace all the “old” ones. Here is an example of some of the snacks they provide in the vending machines:
As an added treat for you… they are giving you a chance to win a snack pack! Very easy entry below. I love that they only use products that are made from good and healthy ingredients. I tried the KIND dark chocolate nuts and sea salt bar last week and it was SO delicious!
Other Cool Stuff:
HUMAN Healthy Vending has launched the first website dedicated to the USDA’s new “Smart Snacks in School” rules, which affect all schools participating in the National School Lunch Program. SmartSnacksInSchool.com will be the ultimate resource for schools, nutrition professionals, parents, students and anyone interested in school nutrition. Learn more here.

About Healthy Vending
Founded in 2008 by social entrepreneurs Sean Kelly and Andy Mackensen, HUMAN (“Helping Unite Mankind and Nutrition”) Healthy Vending is revolutionizing the $42B vending industry. No longer do vending machines have to conjure images of energy- inefficient machines that sell junk food. Instead, HUMAN achieves its mission, “to make healthy food more convenient than junk food,” by way of its innovative, high-tech and eco-friendly vending machines that vend better-for-you foods and drinks, including fresh produce and locally-sourced products.
In addition to providing healthful food and drink options, HUMAN machines provide nutrition education via high-definition LCD screens that display streaming education- related videos and digital content.
HUMAN currently has over 1500 machines placed across the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico in schools, hospitals, gyms, and government and corporate locations across the world.
HUMAN is committed to social and environmental stewardship. In January of 2013, HUMAN became the first in the vending industry to become a Certified B Corporation. Certified B Corporations meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. As a Certified B Corp, HUMAN is legally required to consider the impact of its decisions on its employees, franchisees, suppliers, community, consumers, and environment.
Additionally, HUMAN donates 10% of profits to charities that fight the causes of childhood obesity and malnutrition, with a pre-dominate recipient of those funds being HUMAN’s non-profit arm, HUMAN Everywhere. HUMAN Everywhere’s mission is to leverage the power of social entrepreneurship to improve the nation’s collective health by increasing access to nutrition education and healthful foods while advocating for public policy that contributes to these goals.
