Hello Betty! There is just something about the name that feels so welcoming and natural. A seaside fish house located in Oceanside, California feels just like that. Waves, food and drinks is really all you need for an afternoon with Betty.
Our team at SD Mom's Night Out and I headed to Hello Betty's for an afternoon of food and planning. We chatted about our upcoming event at BoConcept and possible plans for a night out at Hello Betty's as we sampled delicious bites from the menu. We first sampled a few appetizers. One of my favorites was the Ahi Tuna Poke.
I loved the overall feeling of the restaurant. It felt so beachy and relaxing. We also tried the shrimp and cheese stuffed jalapeños. Amazing! A little spicy to eat more than one but a definite must try. I also loved the baja stone crab and cheese dip. I probably could have eaten the whole dish but I had to leave some for the rest of the gang. My kiddo ate the chicken fingers with ranch and a fruit cup. They had some really great options for kids meals. The restaurant is pretty ideal for bringing the little ones. The atmosphere is super laid back, there is an awesome car to check out, a game room and friendly service.
My kiddo did not hold back when it was time to check out the car. The funniest part was the sign on the front of the car: "Unattended Kids will be given an espresso and a kitten". LOVE! Simple rules really : enjoy the car, take photos, but don't jump around and be a fool.
We also got a quick tour of the top deck. Hello Betty has an amazing venue space looking over the ocean. We hope to do a Mom's Night Out event there someday soon. The restaurant is also connected to the hotel next door which would make for a pretty awesome staycation.

We received a meal for media consideration. All opinions are my own.
