Happy Anniversary Hello Betty!

This week I had the pleasure of attending the Hello Betty Fish House one-year anniversary party and let’s just say it was an awesome celebration with Oceanside’s finest in attendance! I’ve been a huge fan of this North County venue since it opened last year so you can imagine my excitement when I received an invite to the event. Appropriately named ‘Beats, Boards, Bites, and Brews’, the festivities included Baja Southern California coastal bites, Hello Betty’s Oceanside Margaritas, oyster shucking with Executive Chef Nick Shultz, live music and live surfboard art by Jack Stricker.

If you haven’t checked it out this restaurant located in the heart of Oceanside, I highly recommend stopping by! The ambiance is ‘San Diego classy’ with a SoCal surfer vibe that I can really appreciate as a SD native. Combining Baja flavors with California cuisine, Hello Betty’s restaurant menu features an array of seafood and delicious tacos that are the perfect when paired with a baja michelada on a hot summer day!

In addition to all the delicious food this place has to offer, I have to say my favorite part about this place is the rooftop deck over looking the Pacific Ocean. It’s a prime spot for hanging out with friends and family as it has the BEST rooftop view in downtown Oceanside. It’s actually the perfect location for happy hour whether you’re meeting with big group or planning a more intimate occasion. It’s helpful to know that the rooftop cocktail menu is limited but guests can choose from a wide-selection of beverages downstairs at the main bar and bring up their drink if they want something other than beer or wine.

Make sure to check out this cool restaurant next time you’re in Oceanside. I recommend starting with an order of chips and guacamole on the rooftop deck. When you’re ready, order a fish taco and a beer! I think you’ll love it.

Fun fact: For those of you who don’t know, the word “Betty” is another name for “surfer girl”. A Betty is a confident, stylish and overall rad person. If Brigeeski surfed she’d totally be a Betty!
