I’m not sure if I’ve ever shared about my love with Target but I realized recently that it has always been one of my favorite spots. When we started looking for houses a few years ago, Mark suggested Ramona. I very quickly reminded him that I need to live within 3 miles of Target. “Why?” He said. “Because! I need to!” I didn’t really have any other answer other than that was where I liked to go. Strangely enough, there is a target within 2 miles of where we live now.
My obsession with Target started when I was a little kid. My mom would take me all the time because it was the closest store to our house, and well it is amazing. When I was old enough to walk there with friends, we would go all the time. We ate hot dogs at the cafe then wandered around the store for hours. One day we decided to fill the shopping carts with pillows, sit on top and push ourselves around the store. I may have been kicked out once or twice. (Don’t tell my kids).
I found myself ending up at Target a few times last week and checked in on Facebook saying “I should just move in”. Because, really. There really is something about Target. It is just like a home away from home for me. I typically have a reason for going there like most people do. You know, to get toothpaste or something. The first time we went last week we really just went to look at Halloween costumes and we actually got Halloween costumes. When I got home though, I realized we were out of toothpaste and had to go back the next day.
If you follow along on Instagram, you’ve probably seen one of my kids trying on a funny costume over the last few weeks. It’s like instant fun + games when we see a different costume to try on. There are some pretty hilarious costumes out this year too.
With all the craziness that goes on in the world, I find it even more important to just go out and have a good time. To be silly at every opportunity and to laugh as much as possible. I tried that giant unicorn head on too and the kids loved it.
I can’t get over how cute these masks are! They both love to try different costumes on and wander around the store. For the next few days costumes are BOGO 50% off!
The little guy chose to be Kion from Lion Guard. Seriously, how cute is he?! And the little missy is a beautiful butterfly! I actually got a matching butterfly costume because she was so excited when I said “maybe I should get one too!” And my mom now has one too. Because really, who doesn’t want to dress up like a butterfly?! I love that I can now share this
love obsession of Target with my kiddos.
Tell me your Target stories! What are your kids going to be for Halloween?
