Have you been to Bo Beau Kitchen + Garden? It has become one of my San Diego favorites. They serve delicious elevated comfort food. The kidlets, my madre and I headed to Bo Beau Tuesday night to for a sampling of their menu. It was so nice to get out of the house on a week night. I have not been going out nearly as much since the little guy got here. I’m perfectly fine with that but it is still nice on the occasion that it does happen.
We ordered their famous brussels sprouts for an appetizer and it did not disappoint, in fact, it was rather impressive. The size of the appetizer was very large which was great for sharing and leftovers. Their brussels sprouts are cooked with pancetta and drizzled with a balsamic reduction and topped with parmesan flakes.
For our entrees, we shared the Pasta + Prawns and the French Provencale Shepherd’s Pie. Both dishes were delicious. The Pasta + Prawns is served in a béchamel sauce with bits of broccolini and pine nuts. My favorite dish of the night was definitely the shepherd’d pie though. It is made with short rib, carrots, parsnips, rutabaga, onion, mashed potatoes topped with wisconsin sharp cheddar. Simply amazing.
We had the dessert special of the evening with was a deconstructed s’more. I didn’t care too much for this dessert. They previously had a root beer float though which was fantabulous. I imagine their other desserts would have been better.
We had a great time at dinner. I love that they created a space for the kids to play in. My daughter loves driving the school bus. She met another little boy there and they took turns being driver and passenger. Too fun!!
