Last week I attended a party at a friends house to learn about Prismacolor Premier® products and adult coloring. Danielle from Simmworks Family Blog hosted the beautiful party and we all had so much fun coloring. Prismacolor Premier sponsored the party and this post and I am so excited I was involved. I absolutely LOVE coloring and for some reason (kids) I have not made the time for myself to color. Since this party though, I have colored more in the last week than I have all year. YAY!
Danielle really knows how to host a party. She had breakfast, a mimosa bar, a cocoa bar, snacks, and all the essentials for adult coloring. We each received a Prismacolor Premier Soft Core Colored Pencil Set, Fine Tip Illustration Markers and an adult coloring book. I have been using Prismacolor Premier colored pencils ever since I purchased a set for my middle school art class. I love these pencils because they are thick and long lasting. The soft lead makes it easy to blend and shade.
I have been hearing a lot about adult coloring lately but just hadn’t had a chance to try it out for myself. I was so grateful to attend this party and start coloring again. It was a passion of mine all through high school. I slowly got away from painting and coloring as I started college, got married and ya know had those kiddos. Now that it has been re-introduced to me, I have been coloring almost every night since. After I put the kiddos to bed and straighten up the house, I grab my adult coloring book and Prismacolor pencils for a little ME time!
How cute are all the details from the party?! I love the little signs and Christmas decorations. The cocoa bar was a perfect touch for the holiday season as well.
After we all nibbled on breakfast, we got out our coloring books and enjoyed a little down time. Coloring with friends is just as relaxing as solo coloring. We chatted about life, kids, Christmas and our blogs. It was such a great experience and I’m excited for this new de-stressing hobby.
The Prismacolor Premier colored pencils come with all sorts of beautiful colors. You can find sets of 24-48 pencils through Amazon. (Affiliate) Also, look for adult coloring books not the kids coloring books. There is a huge difference. Sure you can have fun coloring in characters with your kiddos but having an adult coloring book that is mine is so nice. I do share it with my daughter because I have found she likes to color with me on the same book, but it is still different.
Coloring late at night by myself with a glass of wine has become my latest activity for de-stressing. It helps to get my thoughts together and focus on something other than work and home life. You HAVE to try it!
Below are a few other pages I have colored from the book we received at the party. This has also got me thinking of designing my own coloring book for adults. EEK! It would be so awesome!
